This product is not a model but a turned metal replacement barrel for the long 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48 gun. It replaces the plastic barrel from the kit with a faithfully shaped metal part with a drilled muzzle and accurate geometry. Intended for models of the German Pz.Kpfw. IV tank in the Ausf. H version in 1:72 scale. Aber is a Polish manufacturer of turned barrels and photo-etched accessories.
The long 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48 gun turned the Panzer IV into a full-fledged anti-tank machine, which remained the backbone of the German armored forces until the end of the war. The Ausf. H version was the most numerously produced variant. A slender long barrel with a muzzle brake is characteristic of it.
Cut the plastic barrel off and clean it up, then glue the metal one on with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The metal part keeps the long barrel perfectly straight and seats the muzzle brake accurately. Degrease it before painting and apply a primer for metal.
This is a metal accessory, not a stand-alone model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
