An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet KV-8S flamethrower tank in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer PST. This kit for gluing and painting captures the lightened later variant of the KV series heavy tank with its characteristic smaller turret. The model will be appreciated above all by admirers of Soviet armored vehicles of the Second World War who are looking for a less usual flamethrower machine.
The KV-8S was based on the faster, lightened version of the KV-1S heavy tank (the letter S from the word skorostnoy, meaning fast), which received a smaller and lighter turret. Like the KV-8, this machine also carried a built-in flamethrower and a main gun of reduced 45 mm caliber hidden in a jacket imitating a 76 mm gun. The Red Army used flamethrower tanks to break through fortifications and to fight in built-up areas.
Assemble and try the running gear before you close the hull up. Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement, sand the joints and cover the surface with primer. Apply the covering shades with an airbrush and finish the scene with weathering: a wash into the recesses, dust and mud pigments on the running gear and light wear on the exposed edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
