The I-15bis was a reworked version of the Polikarpov I-15 fighter biplane with a lengthened and uncranked upper wing and a radial engine of the M-25 series. It was built from the second half of the 1930s and was used in a number of conflicts before the Second World War and at its beginning. It was an agile machine of mixed metal and fabric construction, typical of Soviet prewar fighter aviation.
On a biplane the accurate seating of the upper wing and the struts is the key - let the joint cure properly on a flat surface. Finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage. After painting, do not forget the rigging of the interplane bracing with thin filament, which gives a biplane a realistic look. An airbrush suits the Soviet green and blue schemes, and a fine wash and a matte varnish will bring the fabric surfaces to life.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
