Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Messerschmitt Me 262A-1a jet fighter in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. It is the pure fighter version, called the Schwalbe. The model belongs to the simplified Easy Assembly range: large one-piece parts, a one-piece cockpit tub and a one-piece canopy. The box contains decals for two markings; the exact contents may differ from one boxing to another.
The Me 262 was the first jet aircraft in the world to be used in combat. The A-1a Schwalbe fighter version carried its gun armament concentrated in the nose and thanks to its high speed it could attack Allied bomber formations before they managed to defend themselves. Power came from a pair of jet engines slung under the wings. Its service came only at the close of the war, when a shortage of fuel, of experienced pilots and of reliable engines prevented full use of its technical lead.
Glue the large airframe parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the joints down thoroughly. Paint the cockpit interior before you close it. The late war German camouflage, with mottling on the upper surfaces and light lower surfaces, will stand out with an airbrush over primer; bring the panel lines out with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
