An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat MiG-15 UTI trainer in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Smer. It is a classic kit of the simpler kind with a lower number of parts, a clear build and decals for several marking options. Thanks to its undemanding assembly it is a rewarding model even for less experienced modelers.
The MiG-15 UTI was the two-seat training variant of the famous Soviet MiG-15 jet fighter, which made its name in the Korean War. The instructor and the pupil sat one behind the other under a lengthened canopy; the machine served to convert pilots onto jet aircraft. The UTI became one of the most widespread jet trainers, served with many armies of the Eastern Bloc and other countries and in many places stayed in service for decades.
Before the build, clean the flash off the parts and test the fit of the fuselage dry. Glue the joints with liquid cement for plastic, mask the elongated canopy and paint with an airbrush. The natural metal finish of many machines shows to best effect on a smooth, well-sanded surface; conspicuous warning stripes and markings are typical of training machines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
