Injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet frontal fighter MiG-29 in the 9-13 version in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand ICM. The 9-13 form (reporting name Fulcrum-C) differs from the basic version in the characteristic dorsal hump, which carries built-in equipment and a greater fuel load.
The MiG-29 is a twin-engine supersonic fourth-generation fighter, created as the lighter counterpart of the heavy Su-27 for gaining air superiority over the front. It entered service in the 1980s and became one of the most widespread combat aircraft of the Eastern Bloc. A combination of good maneuverability, powerful engines and guided missiles of short and medium range made it a feared opponent in a turning fight. The 9-13 version is among the later production upgrades of the type.
Glue the plastic parts with a thin modeling cement for plastic, and fill and sand the seams after gluing the fuselage together. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting. Spray the typical Soviet camouflage schemes with an airbrush in thin coats; soft transitions between shades are easier to manage with thinned paint. Gloss varnish under the decals will make sure the edges do not lift; a matte varnish at the end evens the look out.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
