An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet twin-engine long-range interceptor Mikoyan MiG-31, Foxhound in the NATO code, in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. It is a new mold with fine engraved detail; the package contains clear plastic for the canopy glazing, external stores and decals for several marking options.
The MiG-31 is a heavy supersonic interceptor developed for the defense of a vast airspace. It is notable for its pair of powerful engines, its high speed and its powerful radar, which allows it to destroy aerial targets at great distances. It carries a crew of two men — a pilot and a weapon systems officer (WSO) — and its main armament consists of long-range guided missiles. It ranks among the fastest series-produced combat aircraft.
Use liquid cement for plastic and finish the two-seat cockpit and paint it before closing up the fuselage. Mask the extensive glazing because of the sharp transitions of the frames. Apply a primer before painting and apply the paints with an airbrush; on the gray-blue Soviet schemes you will appreciate a fine shading of the panels. Glue the external missiles and stores on only after the basic painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
