A double-sided mask set for a model of the Mirage 2000N aircraft in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A mask set for a model of the Mirage 2000N in 1:72 scale. The parts are cut to the shape of the areas that are covered during painting, so cutting strips out and matching curves by eye falls away. The design is double-sided: it covers the outer as well as the inner side of the glazing, so that the canopy frame looks clean from both viewpoints.
The Mirage 2000N is the two-seat strike version of the French Mirage 2000 combat aircraft. Like the whole family it has a delta wing with no horizontal tail and a long canopy whose outline governs the look of the finished model. In 1:72 scale the cockpit frames are only a few millimeters across, and that is exactly where masking by hand most often falls apart.
Wash and degrease the glazing first. Stick the masks on before spraying, one part at a time, and press the edges down firmly each time. Apply the paint in thin coats so that it does not run under the edge. After spraying take the masks off carefully while the paint has only just become tacky. Check whether the set matches your kit against the mask manufacturer's data.
It will be appreciated by modelers who want sharp transitions on the canopy frame without patiently cutting strips, and by anyone who struggles with curved frames in a small scale. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
