An injection-molded plastic kit of the NAA-57 P-2 trainer in 1:72 scale from RS Models. The model represents the two-seat trainer derived from the American North American NA-16 family, which France ordered before the Second World War to train its pilots. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the decals offer marking options. Check the actual number of parts and schemes in the instructions in the package.
The NAA-57 P-2 belongs to the large North American NA-16 family of trainers, from which the famous T-6 Texan advanced trainer also came. It was an all-metal low-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear and a two-seat tandem cockpit, intended for basic and continuation training. France ordered these machines before the war; after the defeat in 1940 some of the aircraft were taken over by Germany and some stayed with Vichy France. It was a typical trainer of the late 1930s.
Glue the model with liquid cement for plastics, and fill and sand the joints if needed. Apply a primer before painting, which will reveal any flaws. We recommend spraying the airframe and the fine detail with an airbrush; finish the cockpit and the landing gear before closing the fuselage. Apply the decals over a gloss coat and seal them with a matte one.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
