A modern injection-molded plastic model of the American reconnaissance aircraft Grumman OV-1B Mohawk in 1:72 scale. This is the extended (advanced) edition with richer equipment: the package contains plastic sprues including clear parts, a set of photo-etched parts and a decal sheet with several marking options. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The OV-1 Mohawk was a twin-engine turboprop aircraft of the US Army intended for the reconnaissance and observation of the battlefield. You will recognize it by its distinctive triple vertical tail and by the bulged cockpit with an excellent view out. The OV-1B version carried a long pod with a side-looking radar along the side of the fuselage, which made it possible to watch movement on the ground even in unfavorable weather. The machine proved itself in the demanding conditions of low-level flight.
Use thin cement for plastic on the joints and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Mask the clear glazing of the roomy cockpit and glue it only once the interior has been sprayed. Lay the base over a primer and spray the paints thinned with an airbrush; accentuate the panel lines with a wash and unify the surface with a matte varnish. The long radar pod of the B version is typical of the silhouette, so give its seating your attention.
