The plastic kit Special Hobby 1:72 P-40N Warhawk, the Island Warriors edition, captures the last production version of the American fighter used in the Pacific.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Curtiss P-40N Warhawk fighter in 1:72 scale from Special Hobby. The decal sheet in this release offers American aircraft, among them both schemes in sand and light blue shades and aircraft in the classic combination of Olive Drab and Neutral Gray.
The Curtiss P-40 was an American single-seat fighter of the Second World War. The P-40N version was the last production variant and in American colors flew mainly over China, India and the battlefields of the Pacific. Some of the aircraft used on the Pacific islands wore sand finishes better suited to the setting they operated in. The P-40 became known for its robust structure and its ability to work from improvised field airstrips.
Finish the pilot's space before closing the fuselage and mask the glazing of the canopy. Lay the camouflage on with an airbrush, bring out the panel lines with a restrained wash and unify the surface with a protective varnish before applying the decals. Exhaust staining and wear on the leading edges will give the aircraft a convincing look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
