An injection-molded plastic kit of the German light tank Pz.Kpfw.38(t) Ausf.D in 1:72 scale from the Polish maker First to Fight. It is an easy-to-build model from a series aimed at the vehicles of the early war years, with a sensible parts count and clear instructions, so it suits less experienced builders and collectors who want to expand a collection of small-scale armor quickly.
The Pz.Kpfw.38(t) was originally a Czechoslovak light tank (LT vz. 38) that the German army took over and used on a large scale after the occupation of the rest of Czechoslovakia. In the first production versions, among them the Ausf.D, it proved itself in the field campaigns of the early Second World War thanks to its reliability and good mobility. Its dependable chassis later became the basis for a whole family of tank destroyers and self-propelled guns, the Hetzer among them, so the 38(t) family served through practically the whole war.
With the simpler tooling, clean up the parting lines and dry-fit the parts carefully. Paint the running gear and the lower hull before final assembly, as it is easier to weather them then. Use a liquid modeling cement on the plastic. Apply a primer before painting, spray or brush the early German gray schemes, and bring the whole model to life with a wash in the recesses, fine edge highlighting and dust on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
