Italeri 1:72 Russian Infantry (winter uniform) is a set of unpainted figures of Soviet infantry in winter equipment of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of figures of Soviet infantry in winter dress in 1:72 scale from Italeri. The box contains a larger number of unpainted figures in soft plastic, grouped into several repeating poses. The set comes from the older Esci mold and it is meant to extend dioramas and scenes of the Eastern Front.
The figures capture soldiers of the Red Army in winter equipment, typical of the fighting on the Eastern Front between 1941 and 1945. They wear padded coats and fur caps, the ushanka, complemented by the infantry armament of the day. The winter clothing points to the hard conditions of the Russian winter, which markedly influenced the course of the campaign.
The soft plastic of the figures holds ordinary cement for hard plastic less well; a glue for soft plastics or super glue works better. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. To unify the tones, a base coat of primer helps, followed by emphasis of the folds of the clothing with a dark enamel or acrylic wash.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
