An injection-molded plastic model of the German armored radio car Sd.Kfz.261 (kleiner Panzerfunkwagen) in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand ICM. Unlike the armored reconnaissance cars it carried no turret and no cannon - the whole interior belonged to a powerful radio set for long-range communication. The box contains injection-molded plastic parts and a decal sheet.
The Sd.Kfz.260 and 261 were small armored signals cars built for staff and signal units; they were produced from the end of 1940. The Sd.Kfz.261 carried the long-range FuG 12 radio set with a frame antenna as well as an extending telescopic antenna. It was an unarmed car with a fixed closed superstructure, whose task was to provide reliable radio communication.
Assemble and paint the interior and the chassis first, and only then close the hull. Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic; attach the frame antenna carefully with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply primer and paint with an airbrush in thin coats. Bring the running gear to life with a dark wash and apply dust pigments to the hull for a convincing patina of a vehicle from the front.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
