The Trumpeter 2K11A TEL with the 9M8M Krug missile (1:72) is a plastic kit of the Soviet self-propelled launch vehicle of a surface-to-air missile system.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the Soviet transporter erector launcher (TEL) of the 2K11 Krug surface-to-air missile system in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. It is not a tank but a tracked vehicle carrying two large 9M8M guided missiles. The smaller 1:72 scale makes the model a rewarding piece that takes little space in a collection of missile hardware.
The 2K11 Krug system (NATO code SA-4 Ganef) was a Soviet mobile medium to long range surface-to-air missile complex fielded from the 1960s. The launch vehicle on a tracked chassis carried a pair of missiles and was supported by radars and command vehicles. The version with the 9M8M missile was a later improvement of the original round. The system served with a number of Warsaw Pact armies.
Assemble the running gear and the launch rail first, and only then fine-tune the seating of the missiles. Use a thin plastic cement, treat the surface with a primer and apply the paint with an airbrush. A single-color finish comes alive with a wash in the recesses and pigments on the running gear; the large missile surfaces take gentle shading well, which keeps them from looking like toys.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
