Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British carrier strike aircraft Wyvern S.4 in 1:72 scale from the Trumpeter firm. The model captures the robust fuselage, the folding wing and the pair of contra-rotating propellers on the nose. The package holds clear parts and a decal sheet.
The Wyvern was a heavy British carrier strike aircraft powered by a turboprop engine with a pair of contra-rotating propellers - an unusual solution on the boundary between the piston and the jet era. It served with the Fleet Air Arm and saw combat during the Suez Crisis in 1956, when it carried out bombing and attacks on ground targets. The combination of turboprop power and carrier operations makes it one of the most interesting machines of its time.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic; seat the contra-rotating propellers so that they can turn freely. Apply a primer before painting; the typical scheme is Dark Sea Grey on the upper surfaces with light undersides. The folding wing can be fixed in the spread or in the folded position, and the panel lines can be brought out with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
