An injection-molded plastic kit of the three-axle ZiL-131 off-road truck in 1:72 scale, in the form used by the Ukrainian army. ICM is a Ukrainian manufacturer and has this subject well mapped. The small scale means a quicker build and easy placement in a display case, and at the same time the model combines well with further vehicles of the same scale.
The ZiL-131 is an off-road truck with drive to all three axles, whose series production got under way at the end of the 1960s. The vehicle was designed above all to carry troops and loads up to roughly five tons and became the basis for a whole range of bodies, from workshop and signals vehicles to carriers of special equipment. Characteristic are the rounded cab, a simple and durable structure and the ability to move in heavy terrain. Later an upgraded variant designated ZiL-131N came about. Vehicles of this type are still in service with the Ukrainian armed forces to this day, where they serve above all in the supply and transport role.
Assemble and paint the chassis and the axles before you fit the cab and the cargo bed. Finish the cab including the interior and the clear parts, which you paint only after masking. In a small scale cleanliness decides, so clean up the mold seams carefully and apply a thin filler primer. Ukrainian vehicles usually wear a camouflage finish in green and brown tones, which suits an airbrush at low pressure. Keep weathering moderate; dust on the wheels and the lower surfaces and fine accentuation of the panel gaps is enough.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
