Forty-two infantrymen of the late Empire period come in the plastic set 28mm French Napoleonic Wars Line Infantry 1812-1815.

Forty-two figures in one package are enough for a whole battalion. Thirty-six of them make up a formation of four fusilier companies, one grenadier and one voltigeur company, including the command trio of an officer, a standard bearer and a drummer. The remaining six men are conceived as a skirmish line pushed out ahead of the ranks.
Half the figures wear the short coat of the Bardin regulations of 1812, the other half are wrapped in a greatcoat, and all of them have long trousers over their boots. That is exactly how the army looked on campaign, not on parade. The set therefore covers the disaster in Russia, the fighting in Germany and the final engagement of 1815.
Glue the torso, the head and the arms separately and keep checking the alignment, so that the way the musket is held comes out naturally. It pays to glue the figures onto a base only once the face is painted. Leave the spare heads aside for later conversions, or they will usually go to waste. The blue of the coat makes a contrast with the white waistcoats and gray greatcoats that holds the whole regiment together, so choose the shade once and keep to it with reinforcements bought later as well.
Glue and paints do not belong with the figures.
