Revell Aqua Color Basic — an acrylic primer for painting

The basic primer of the water-thinnable Revell Aqua Color acrylic system. It goes on as the first coat over glued and prepared kit parts: it evens out the shade of plastic of various colors and of filled areas, makes visible any scratches or gaps that can still be put right, and creates a coherent base on which the following paints hold better and cover more evenly. Because it is a water-based acrylic, it is used without aggressive solvents and the tools wash out in plain water.

Use

• Stir the contents thoroughly before use.
• Apply by brush, or thin it with water or the thinner for Aqua Color acrylics and spray it with an airbrush in thin coats.
• Let the primer dry thoroughly, sand it lightly and carry on with the camouflage shades.
• It works best as a base under Revell Aqua Color acrylic paints; check compatibility with other systems on a test part first.

Who it is for

For every modeler who wants a clean, even base under the paint — from beginners, for whom the water base makes the first steps easier, to advanced builders spraying with an airbrush, who will appreciate a quick check of the surface before the final camouflage. It is also useful for checking filled joints as you go: a thin coat of primer shows at once where more sanding or more filler is needed.

Although this is a water-based paint, work in a well-ventilated room, protect it from frost and store it out of the reach of children.
