The real subject

The Corvette of the eighth generation, marked C8, is the first production car of this line with the engine set in the middle. The layout moved the cabin forward and gave the car proportions not seen on a Corvette until then. The coupe has a fixed central part of the body and markedly cut sides, so on a model both the glossy area of the body and the contrast of the dark inset parts stand out.

Painting tips

• Stir the bottle thoroughly before applying; the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Spray the body in several thin coats; one heavy coat floods the shaped edges.
• Wash and degrease the surface of the model before painting; on greasy plastic the paint pulls away.
• Deal with thinning, the drying time and any varnish according to the directions on the packaging of the paint.
• The remains of paint in a bottle last longer when you clean the thread and the neck before you close the cap.
