This is a plastic section in ABS from the Green Stuff World brand with a cross section in the shape of a double T. Exactly this shape is that of the steel beam you know from cranes, bridges, halls and industrial structures, and in modeling practice it is called an H section. The figure of 2 mm in the name describes the dimension of the cross section, not the scale of a model, so the same section will serve in various scales according to how heavy a beam you need to represent.
Material for your own structures
Sections are the basic raw material for your own work, where elements are not produced from a mold but assembled from stock. As soon as you have several cross-section shapes in stock, structural parts stop being a problem: a beam, a column, a frame and a lattice structure all come about from sections faster and more convincingly than if you shaped them from flat material.
Diorama builders, railway modelers and everyone who makes their own structural elements will find a use for the section. The material divides easily with a sharp knife or a fine saw: guide the cut perpendicular to the axis of the section, so that the end stays square and the joints follow on from one another. Measure longer runs out in advance and cut them all at once, and the resulting structure will then keep a regular grid.
When dividing the material, work on a mat, use a sharp tool and protect your eyes. Keep out of the reach of children.
