A themed set of acrylic paints from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM, put together for building a MiG-29 of the Ukrainian Air Force. The package holds six bottles with a volume of 12 ml; according to the manufacturer these are five shades from a pale gray to a dark gray plus a satin varnish. The binder is acrylic and water-thinnable.
Ukrainian MiG-29s carry a gray camouflage that works with a broken pattern, so a model calls for several close gray tones that have to be told apart and at the same time hold together. The set is put together for exactly this, and a varnish for an even surface before and after the decals goes with it. The nickname Ghost of Kyiv appeared in the first days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, and the manufacturer used it both for the set and for the matching kit.
For builders of modern fighters who want the gray shades of one scheme together, and for modelers working on present-day Ukrainian subjects.
Acrylic paints are water-thinnable and undemanding to work with a brush, but even so make sure of ventilation when spraying and protect your airway. Keep the bottles well closed, do not let them freeze and store them out of the reach of children.
