A set of six paints of fourteen milliliters each, put together for building car models: three metallic tones and three basic shades.
Responsibility details are not available.
Building a car differs from building an aircraft in how much of the work falls to the small things under the body. Wheel rims, the exhaust, shock absorbers, the frame, the dashboard and the trim consume more shades than the paintwork itself, and this six is built precisely for that part of the build. It holds a silver, a steel and an aluminum paint, and with them a black, a gray and a brown in a wood tone.
Every pot has fourteen milliliters, which with modeling paints is the standard volume that will see you through several kits. The three metallic tones moreover differ more than it seems at first glance: the silver is the brightest, the steel has a cast toward gray and the aluminum lies between them. Set beside one another they turn a uniform plastic chassis into an assembly of different materials.
The paints are applied with a brush as well as with an airbrush, but before use it is necessary to stir them properly, because the pigment settles to the bottom, with metallic shades especially. Stir slowly and down at the bottom, so as not to carry air bubbles into the mass.
The set will serve well outside cars too. The metallic tones suit aircraft landing gear, rail vehicles and accessories for dioramas, while the wood shade suits crates, pallets and a fence. Anyone who builds regularly will appreciate that these three metallic paints belong among the most frequently used up, which is why it pays to have them together.
