TOMO Transformer

TOMO Transformer — a Trumpeter plastic model

Alongside its military and aviation kits, Trumpeter also has small models that fall outside the usual division by scales and fields. The TOMO Transformer is one of them: it is a small kit of a robot figure, a sibling of further items of the same line.

The name does not give a scale and cannot give one — the figure has no real subject to which a scale could be related. In extent it is an undemanding kit that suits a gift, a model for a single evening or a first acquaintance with building for a younger modeler.

Building and painting tips

• Separate the parts with side cutters and level the remaining sprue nub with a knife or a file so that there are no burrs on an edge.
• Use liquid cement for plastic applied with a fine brush; it is dropped at a joint and wicks into it by itself.
• If you want to paint the model, divide the build into subassemblies and paint them before you join them.
• On moving joints take care that no glue gets into them.
• Apply the paint in thin coats; one heavy coat floods the fine edges.

Who the model is for

• For beginning modelers and younger builders.
• For collectors who look for small things outside the main modeling fields.
• As an undemanding gift or a small build alongside a bigger project.

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
