Light grayish brown is a subdued tone in which gray and brown hold in balance and neither of them prevails. On a model it looks unobtrusive and takes further treatment well: under a glaze it darkens only slightly and a dry brush can accent the edges on it without the result looking garish. The designation A-21m names the shade, but judge the impression of color by the manufacturer's color chart, not by a screen. It is precisely with subdued grayish brown tones that the rendering on a monitor and the dried coat differ most.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Choose the thinner and the ratio of thinning according to the instructions of the manufacturer on the packaging and use the thinner intended for this range; a thinner from another range may curdle the paint or worsen its adhesion. Try the consistency and the coverage on a piece of scrap plastic first and adjust the paint only according to that test. Several thin coats will give a more even result than one thick one, which floods the fine surface relief and rounds the edges off.
Subdued grayish brown tones suit everywhere the paint is to look dusty and worn: on the camouflage of vehicles and aircraft, on equipment, crates and tarpaulins and as a base for weathering later. They also go well with the surroundings of a diorama, because in earth tones they do not stand out from the whole.
A thinner, brushes, an airbrush and a model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
