A hot red shifted toward orange, from the Maxx Formula acrylic range. An opaque matte shade for flames, lava and red-hot metal, 17 ml.

Hellfire Red is a saturated red coverage clearly turned toward orange. In the manufacturer's numbering it stands right after the orange tones and before a cleaner middle red, so it forms exactly the transitional link with which a flame can be led out from its core. It is therefore rewarding on lava bases, the mouths of exhausts, red-hot metal and on the plate armor of demonic figures, where a shade is to look hot, not cold.
It works best over a warm base. If you lay a thin glaze over an orange layer and let it draw to the edges of the surface, the impression of light coming from inside the model arises. By the opposite procedure, that is from a dark tone toward this red, the gradual heating of a barrel or the firebox of a locomotive is built up. On larger areas it helps to run a second pass at right angles to the first, so that the unevenness of the opening stroke is evened out and the surface stays uniform.
Maxx Formula from Green Stuff World was created in the first place for work with a brush. The shade gets into an airbrush after slight thinning with an acrylic thinner and the spray keeps its matte character with no glossy places. The cap seats tightly, so the paint does not dry out even during longer breaks between unfinished projects.
