Malefic Purple is a dark purple with a leaning toward the cold end of the spectrum. On figures it gets everywhere something unnatural is to be felt: onto the robes of cultists, onto magical flames, onto the costly wool cloth of a noble's cloak and onto the flickering areas from which a glow is to spread out of a model. Purple has the property of drawing the gaze at once, which is why a small area is enough.
It works best as part of a pair. It is left as the shadow and the edges are pulled out with a pink or a light purple, which creates the depth that the shade does not have on its own. Used the other way around as a glaze over a gray or a bone area, it gives it a hint that is hard to find with purely mixed colors.
The paint thins with ordinary water and once dry it stays matte, so further coats or pigments can be laid onto it straight away. The package consists of a bottle with a volume of seventeen milliliters with a dropper in the neck and with a metal ball, which returns the pigment into the whole volume after a longer stand.
If a modeler wants to achieve the impression of a glow, the purple is applied from the source outward and brightened gradually. The lightest point belongs right at the source of the light and the surrounding areas only reflect the rest, otherwise the scene loses its direction and the area falls apart.
