A clear acrylic cover that closes a finished model into a space of its own. In the order of the work it comes as the very last step, after the decals have been applied, after the wash, after the finish has been knocked back to matte. It is precisely at that stage that a model loses the most: settled dust practically cannot be removed from a matte surface and from fine detail such as antennas, propeller blades or photo-etched parts without the risk of damage. Use

• Place the model on a base or a plinth and fit the cover carefully over it from above.
• Check beforehand that the highest and widest point of the model fits comfortably into the marked space, including antennas and armament.
• Handle the cover by the walls, not by the edges, because scuffs show most easily on the edges of acrylic.
• Clean the model with a soft brush before closing it up, so that no dust stays under the cover.
• Place the display out of direct sunlight; long-term light fades the colors even under a cover.

Do not clean acrylic with alcohol, acetone or aggressive solvents, because they dull it and make it crack. A soft dry cloth or a product meant for plastics is enough.
