A clear acrylic mold in which small bricks measuring 2.85 x 5.7 mm are made from modeling compound. The transparency is a practical property here, not a decoration: unlike a silicone mold, you can see whether the compound has filled the whole shape and do not have to find that out only after taking the brick out. The mold is reusable, so you can make as many bricks as you need.
Air-drying and two-part modeling compounds work best. Press the compound into the cavities, scrape the excess off with a straight edge and let it set according to the instructions of its manufacturer. Sticky compounds grip acrylic, so dampen either the mold or the compound lightly with water. Once you have taken the bricks out, let them cure on a flat surface so that they do not warp. Clean the mold while the residue is still soft; hardened material would clog the shape.
