Aegir Black 6mm is one of the grass tufts for a diorama from the brand Paint Forge. From the name the black tone of the growth is certain, together with the designation 6 mm, which with scenic vegetation usually states the height.
Where dark growth comes in useful
The tufts are placed only on finished terrain, after painting and after pigments. Black is very strong in a scene — place it in smaller irregular clumps and watch that it blends with the surface and does not form harsh patches. If a tuft does not hold by itself, stick it down with a drop of PVA or cyanoacrylate glue under its base, without the glue wicking into the fibers. A tuft can be divided with scissors into smaller clumps or trimmed. With a drybrush the tips of the fibers can be lightened slightly, which gives the growth depth and stops it looking like a flat black area.
For builders of dioramas and vignettes and for modelers of figures and busts who make bold bases. It suits above all where a scene is meant to come off dark or unearthly. The material is not tied to one scale.
