Stencils for spraying with an airbrush. They serve to transfer a repeated pattern onto a model, onto a base and onto the terrain features of a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
With a stencil you transfer a repeated pattern faster and more evenly than you can paint it freehand. The principle is simple: the stencil covers part of the surface, the paint goes through its cut-outs only and a cleanly bounded drawing is left on the surface. It is an aid for building dioramas, so it serves on a base, on terrain features and on the model itself.
Lay the stencil on the surface before spraying, not onto a dried coat, and hold it close against the surface so that paint does not run under it; held above the surface it gives a smeared edge. Spray perpendicular from above, in several weak coats and at lower pressure than for ordinary spraying. When you have finished, clean the stencil while the paint is still damp. A dried coat clogs the cut-outs and the drawing will come out coarser next time.
They suit anyone who builds dioramas or bases for models and needs to repeat the same pattern several times over an area. They will also serve well for practicing with an airbrush, because on them it shows at once how the set pressure and the distance from the surface change the crispness of the edge. The size of the sheet and the motif of the cut-outs are given by the manufacturer on the packaging, so keep the packaging once you have unpacked it.
The stencils are supplied on their own. Paints, an airbrush, a model and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
