Six AK-74 assault rifles in 1:35 scale. Weapons in this scale come into their own in several ways at once: in the hands of figures, slung on equipment, leaning against the wall of a vehicle interior or stacked in a rack in a diorama. Six pieces are enough to equip a whole squad or crew.
The AK-74 is a Soviet assault rifle chambered for the 5.45 x 39 mm round, which replaced the older AKM from the 1970s on. It can be told from its predecessor mainly by the prominent muzzle brake and by the magazine with a gentler curve. The silhouette of the weapon is so well known that a viewer notices at once whether it is right or wrong.
Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; super glue or epoxy holds on resin and metal. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the rest down; the barrel and the stock are slender, so support them while you work. Wash and degrease the weapons before painting. A dark primer works well, with a dry brush in a lighter metallic shade along the edges on top of it and the wooden parts painted in separately so that they stand apart from the metal.
For builders of figures, vehicles and dioramas whose kit lacks a believable small arm. Figures, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
