The synthetic brush AK SYNTHETIC BRUSH – DAGGER XL has a drawn-out angled point for long strokes, soft transitions and the accenting of edges.
Responsibility details are not available.
A brush from the range of synthetic brushes by the brand AK interactive. The shape known as a dagger has its filaments trimmed into a drawn-out wedge, so it behaves differently from a round and from a flat brush alike: depending on the tilt of your hand it draws a fine hairline or lays down a broader band of paint. The XL size adds a larger reservoir of paint to that, thanks to which a stroke does not dry out halfway along its length.
Take the excess paint off on a palette before the stroke, otherwise the filaments splay and the line widens. After work wash the brush out with the matching solvent and finish the cleaning with soap, so that no dried paint stays in the ferrule – that is where fraying starts. Do not leave it standing point down in a cup, and after washing lay the filaments back into their wedge. For thick pastes, fillers and loose pigments reach for a spare brush kept for the purpose, as a point of this shape would be worn out for nothing.
It will be appreciated by figure painters who work with transitions and fine lines, and by modelers of military vehicles who fill the details in by hand after the airbrush. Thanks to the synthetic filaments it stands frequent washing and makes a rewarding addition to a set of round brushes.
