ALUMINIUM pencils

AK Interactive Aluminium — a weathering pencil

A weathering pencil from AK Interactive in the metallic shade of aluminum. It is a modeling accessory for creating effects, not a kit and not a paint in a spray can. The core is a highly pigmented, waxy and semi-greasy lead set in wood, which can be thinned with water. Thanks to its solubility in water the pigment blends and tones easily, and any mistakes can be corrected before it dries. The pencil serves to achieve the metallic look of aluminum and of worn metal surfaces.

Use

• Drawing straight on dry over edges, rivets and exposed places for the effect of paint worn through to bare metal.
• Dipping the tip in water (ideally distilled) for a deeper, more easily blended mark.
• Blending and toning with a damp brush into fine transitions and a metallic sheen.
• Bringing out panel lines, damage and chipping on aircraft, vehicles and figures.
• Suitable for matte as well as gloss painted surfaces; corrections before it dries by washing with water.

Who it is for

For modelers and weathering enthusiasts who want to create metallic and wear effects accurately and under control without an airbrush. Suitable for beginners and advanced modelers alike thanks to how easily it is controlled and corrected.
