A dark gray paint listed under the code AMT-12. Dark grays are shades used on models for large masking areas of upper surfaces, for the darker fields of two-tone schemes, and on small parts such as propeller blades, instrument panels or the rubber parts of running gear.
The paint is ready to spray with an airbrush. Shake the bottle thoroughly before use to remix the pigment that settles at the bottom. Spray at a lower pressure and in thin coats; a single thick coat will fill in fine engraving and easily shows up as uneven gloss on a large surface.
On large surfaces a dark color shows every unsanded seam without mercy, so check the surface against the light before spraying and fix any flaws. A continuous dark area also visually shrinks the model; it helps to lighten the center of larger fields with a touch of a lighter shade and leave the edges darker. Apply masks only once the paint is completely dry, and pull them off at a shallow angle. Flush the airbrush with thinner immediately after spraying, and work in a well-ventilated area.
The package contains only the paint. Thinner, a model, masking material and an airbrush are not included, unless stated otherwise. Volume and recommended thinning ratio are given on the bottle label.
