ARCADE MACHINES 30-35MM SCALE

Arcade machines, size 30-35 mm (AK interactive)

A set of scenic accessories for dioramas and gaming tables. It is not a model kit nor a set of parts for one, but equipment of the setting in its own right, which is placed around figures. The size matches figures roughly 30 to 35 millimeters tall, that is, the standard most tabletop games and modern urban dioramas work with.

What they bring to a scene

Arcade machines are a strong storytelling feature. They place a scene in a particular period and setting, whether it is an amusement arcade, a bar, a shopping mall or a post-apocalyptic interior where the machines stand abandoned and dusty. In a scene they also work in practical terms: upright objects break up the surface of the table, form cover and lead the viewer's eye into depth.

Use in a scene

• furnishing the interior of an arcade, a bar or a shopping mall
• equipping an abandoned space in a post-apocalyptic scene
• cover and a reference point on a gaming table
• an accessory for urban dioramas of a later period

Tips for placing and painting

If you paint the set, the greatest effect comes from the contrast between the dark cabinet of a machine and the light, colorful front panel. Gloss varnish on the screen and a matte surface on the cabinet will tell the materials apart. In a run-down scene add dust at the bottom and wear on the edges the players touch most often.

Who the set is for

• for builders of interior and urban dioramas
• for tabletop gamers building their own terrain
• for modelers completing the setting around figures of 30 to 35 mm

Figures, furniture, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
