An extensive set of acrylic paints for the exterior finish and the interior spaces of the StuG III Ausf.G assault gun.
Responsibility details are not available.
The assault gun built on the chassis of a medium tank was originally created as infantry support, but with the long 7.5 cm gun it turned into a feared destroyer of armored vehicles. The Ausf.G version was built from the end of 1942 until the last weeks of the war in two plants, and in the end thousands of them were made, more than of any other German tracked weapon. The machine changed during production: a cast gun mantlet was added, for a time also an anti-magnetic paste coating on the vertical surfaces, and the way the crews applied the camouflage in the field kept changing.
The set is built precisely for this two-track approach. One part covers the exterior finish, that is a sand base and the green and brown patches that go with it, the other is aimed at the fighting compartment, which on German vehicles of that period was light so that the crew could work in it. To that belongs the tone of the base protective coat with which the lower areas and the inside of the hull were painted.
Build and paint the interior before you close the hull. It pays to dirty the light interior very sparingly, otherwise it loses its point. Apply the outdoor camouflage freehand in thin coats and leave the edges of the patches soft, the way they came out when they were sprayed at the unit itself.
