Badlands Grass Tufts 6mm are grass tufts for a diorama from the brand Paint Forge. It is scenic material to be applied to finished terrain, not a kit and not a standalone object in a scene. The name refers to the parched, gullied landscape of the badlands type and carries the designation 6 mm, by which the height of the growth is usually stated with vegetation.
What scenes it suits
The tufts are seated only on finished terrain, after painting and after pigments. Dry growth looks best where it carries on from the surface in color — matching the shade of sand, dust and grass matters more than the amount of vegetation. Spread the tufts out irregularly, in groups of differing size and with open areas between them. If a tuft does not hold by itself, stick it down with a drop of PVA or cyanoacrylate glue under the base in such a way that the glue does not wick into the fibers. A tuft can be divided with scissors and also trimmed down to lower growth, and the bottom dusted with a pigment, so that the transition to the terrain does not come off harshly.
For modelers of dioramas and vignettes with military hardware and for collectors of figures who make elaborate bases. The material is not tied to one scale, as the character and density of the scene decides.
It is scenic material, not a kit. A base, terrain compounds, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
