Fantasy figures are often built on repulsiveness, and few details work as reliably as a freshly vomiting monster. This product is a transparent gloss water-based paint tuned toward a greenish yellow, that is toward a shade the brain immediately connects with nausea. The gloss remains even after drying, so the discharge looks wet, as if it had happened a moment ago.
It is applied with a brush or a stick straight onto the place where the discharge is to begin, and left to run down a chin, over the rim of a barrel or down a wall. Because the material is translucent, it can be built up in layers: the first thin layer only tints the surface, and each further one deepens the color and adds volume. To increase the repulsiveness the manufacturer recommends stirring incompletely dispersed solid particles into the material, for example fine sand or pigment. That creates an uneven, lumpy texture which is far more convincing than a smooth drop.
Besides vomit it serves as a purulent discharge from wounds, as the contents of a broken vessel, as slime on cave walls or as the trace of a sick animal in a diorama. It holds well on varnished and matte surfaces alike, mixes with other water-thinnable effects and can be removed with a damp cloth before it dries. The pot contains 17 ml, which at the usual dosage will last for a great many figures. Rinse the brush out immediately after use, as a dried gloss layer is hard to get out of the bristles.
