A paint of the AMMO of Mig Jimenez brand listed under the code A.MIG-0086. It aims at the shade RAL 5019, that is at an entry of the German standardized color chart, in which every tone has a firmly given number. The five at the start of the four-digit number places the shade among the blues; it is a saturated middle blue, neither a light sky blue nor a deep dark blue. Judge the exact look of the tone from the manufacturer's color chart and from the label on the bottle, because they convey it more faithfully than any description in words.
The RAL chart is used above all on civilian and industrial equipment, on machines, containers, tankers and trucks. For a modeler this means that such a shade comes into its own where the color is to be faithful to the real subject according to its production specification, and not guessed from a photograph. It also serves well as a starting tone that you then lighten or mute for the needs of the model.
Mix the contents of the bottle thoroughly before every use, because the pigment settles to the bottom and the top layer tends to be lighter than the real tone. Choose the thinner that is intended for this line and keep the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer instructions on the packaging. Apply in several thin coats with a pause between them, because a single heavy coat fills the engraving and wipes out the fine surface relief. Wash and degrease the model beforehand and lay the paint over a base coat, because on bare smooth plastic it holds less well.
The paint is supplied. The model, the thinner, a brush and an airbrush are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
