A snap-off blade knife for modeling cutting. The blade is divided into segments, so the edge is renewed by snapping the last section off.
Responsibility details are not available.
A snap-off blade knife has its blade divided into segments. As soon as the point goes blunt, you snap the last section off and a new sharp point is waiting underneath. One blade therefore lasts through much longer work than a fixed edge, which has to be changed as a whole. In a modeling workshop it suits cutting plastic sections and sheet, cutting masking tape and film, paper and card, and opening bags of parts.
Extend the blade only as far as you need. A long overhang bends under pressure and snaps at an inconvenient moment. Cut by pulling away from your body, guided along a metal ruler and on a cutting mat, and preferably with several light passes rather than one forceful one. Support material that is to stay whole, so that it does not bow under the blade.
A snap-off blade is thin and is not suited to hard material. Do not cut metal, ceramics or hardwood with it, as it may snap sideways. Break the segment off with the snapping head or with small pliers, never with a bare hand, and put the broken piece into a closed container, not into the bin on the table. Keep the edge dry and clean; dried glue and paint hold on it and are carried onto the surface of the model at the next cut.
A cutting mat, a ruler and modeling cement are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The width of the blade and the number of blades in the package are given on the packaging.
