A round plaque 40 mm in diameter devoted to the British commandos, meant for marking a base, a display case or a diorama. An accessory to finished work, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The British commandos came about in 1940 as volunteer units intended for raids and landings on the coast of occupied Europe. They went through their training in the Scottish Highlands, where physical endurance, shooting preparation and movement in mountain terrain were all tested. The green beret, to which only a soldier who had completed the training was entitled, became their recognition mark. Units of this type were committed during the Second World War in Norway, in the Mediterranean and at the Normandy landings.
It is a round plaque 40 mm in diameter, that is an accessory for a diorama. It serves to mark a base, a base plate or a display case with a scene on a British theme. The finish, the material and the recommended method of fixing are given in the manufacturer's instructions, so look into them before gluing.
The plaque belongs on the front side of a base or in the corner of a base plate, where it is easily legible and yet does not overpower the scene itself. Try the layout dry first and only then glue. Rid the surface under the plaque of dust and grease, otherwise the joint will not hold. Watch the horizontal setting, because with a regular circle even a slight rotation is visible at first glance.
It will be appreciated by a modeler who is building a scene or figures from the Second World War and wants to describe finished work neatly. A diameter of 40 mm counts rather on a smaller base than on an extensive diorama. The model itself, a base, figures, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
