A flexible sanding pad from Flex-I-File with 320 grit. It is not a kit, but a modeling tool. The abrasive layer sits on a flexible backing that conforms to the shape of a part — the pad therefore fits curved fuselages, cowlings, tanks and other irregular surfaces where a rigid file would create an unwanted flat spot. A grit of 320 is one of the finer steps in the Flex-Pad range.
Read the grit number this way: the higher the number, the finer the abrasive, and the lower, the coarser. A grit of 320 is therefore finer than 280 — it is used after a coarser step, not instead of it. The reason is simple: a fine abrasive cannot smooth out a scratch left by a coarse one, it can only polish it, so it will stand out even more after painting. So do not skip the order from coarser to finer.
For anyone building plastic models who wants a surface prepared so that primer and paint look clean on it — aircraft, cars, vehicles, ships and figures. After use, rinse the pad and let it air-dry; it will then last considerably longer.
Do not inhale sanding dust — sand wet where possible, or with respiratory protection and good ventilation. This is a tool, not a kit.
