Brush

Round Mirage Hobby brush, natural bristles, size 3

A single round brush from the Mirage Hobby range with natural bristles, in size 3. It is neither a kit nor an accessory for a model - it is a modeler's tool with which you apply paint. Compared with the smallest numbers, a three has a heavier bundle of bristles, so it holds noticeably more paint and you do not have to dip it as often. Because it is still a round brush, the bristles come together in a point, so you can carry the coat even into places where precision is needed. It is the size modelers reach for when they want to paint a whole smaller part evenly without visible strokes: landing gear, wheels, the bodies of figures, crates and equipment for dioramas. Natural bristles work well with enamel and oil paints and let the paint flow smoothly from the bundle into the tip.

Use

• Continuous coats on smaller and medium parts, where a tiny brush would leave streaks.
• Base painting of figures, equipment and accessories for dioramas.
• Work with enamel and oil paints, toning and mixing shades right on the model.
• Applying a larger amount of wash or varnish to a bounded area.

Care of the brush

To make it last, wash it right after you finish painting - always with the thinner that belongs to the paint used (water or acrylic thinner with acrylics, enamel thinner with enamels). Paint that dries at the metal ferrule splays the bristles out into a fan. Do not park the brush tip down in a jar - a deformed tip will never straighten again. While painting, do not press on the bristles, so that they do not break. After cleaning, shape them with your fingers and let them dry flat, or tip upwards.

Who it is for

For modelers who need a reliable medium round brush for broader hand painting and do not need a premium set. It complements the finer sizes you keep for detail perfectly.

A modeling accessory, not a kit. Paints and thinners are not included in the package. Use solvent thinners in a well-ventilated area.
