A set of Flex-i-file sanding sheets. According to the supplier it contains two sheets each measuring 100 x 75 mm, which can be cut to size and stretched over a shaped backing.
Responsibility details are not available.
A seam left after a fuselage is glued, the remains of a sprue gate or a filled wing root cannot be finished with a knife. You need a surface that removes little material and can still be guided precisely. A thin sanding sheet on a flexible backing is a better tool for this stage of the build than a file, because it has no shape of its own to transfer to the model.
The supplier states that the set holds two sheets each measuring 100 x 75 mm. The format is chosen so that a sheet can be cut into several strips while the rest stays whole for larger areas. A strip can be wound around a wooden stick, glued to a plastic tab or pulled between two parts where no other tool will reach.
Sandpaper for building work is made for wood and plaster. It has a coarser binder and a stiff backing, and it breaks when bent, so grains are released at the crease and score the plastic, which then has to be sanded out again. Modeling sheets are thinner and more flexible and hold their grit even after repeated bending. On a thin-walled casting or on a clear part the difference shows at once.
This item is the coarser part of the work: leveling, removing and preparing. Smoothing to a shine and removing the remaining sanding marks is the job of polishing sheets, which are sold separately. A practical division looks like this: you work with this set until the surface behaves uniformly, and only then reach for finer material. Anyone who swaps those two stages needlessly clogs the fine sheets and still fails to catch up with the coarser marks.
