A universal abrasive block with bonded abrasive in a rubber base, 60 grit. It is coarse, but noticeably more controllable than the coarsest version in the range, so it suits leveling surfaces and removing leftover material where you do not yet want to go to a fine grit. The dimensions of 80 x 50 x 20 mm sit in the hand and the flat face of the block helps to keep the sanded surface level. It can be used on metal, wood, plastics, leather, rubber, laminate and painted surfaces.

Use

• Leveling seams and filled areas once the putty has cured, where a fast but still controllable cut is needed.
• Removing casting blocks and sprue gates from resin and metal parts.
• Sanding wooden parts down on ship models and diorama bases.
• Leveling surfaces after the coarser 30 grit, before you move on to 120 and 240 grit for the final finish.
• Knock the block out as you go. A clogged face cuts unevenly and can smooth the surface rather than abrade it.

Who the block is for

For modelers who routinely work with putty, resin, wood or metal and need a reliable intermediate step between coarse shaping and fine finishing. It also serves well for small workshop and do-it-yourself jobs. Unlike abrasive paper it does not tear and a clogged face can be restored, so it lasts markedly longer.

Sanding produces dust, which must not be breathed in. Work in a ventilated space and use a respirator and eye protection, especially with resin parts and putties.
