About product

Burned Grease — an Abteilung 502 weathering pigment

A finely milled matte pigment from Abteilung 502 in a 20 ml container. It is not a paint for covering surfaces but a dry pigment powder intended for weathering finished models. The dark greasy brown-black shade faithfully imitates burnt grease, baked-on oil and greasy patches on metal.

Use

  • Greasy, oil-stained surfaces around engines, gearboxes and pumps
  • Dark greasy films on fuel tanks, caps and filler necks
  • Baked-on grease on running gear, gears and chains
  • Darkening recesses and seams for a look of years of working grime
  • Applied dry with a brush, blended if needed and sealed with a fixer, thinner or matte varnish

Who the pigment is for

Suitable for modelers of military and civilian vehicles, for diorama builders and for collectors who want to pick out working grease stains and oil marks realistically. It combines with other pigments and with oil and enamel effects.

A fine pigment powder. Do not inhale it, work in a ventilated space and consider a respirator. Keep out of the reach of children.

FAQ

It is a dry pigment powder for weathering, not an opaque paint for large surfaces. It is applied dry and then sealed.

The powder is settled by tapping off the excess and sealed with a pigment fixer, with thinner, or by spraying over it with a matte varnish.

Greasy, oil-stained places: around engines, gearboxes and tanks, and on the running gear.
