Responsibility details are not available.
Chibi-Maru Fleet Akizuki from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi turns the destroyer Akizuki into the cute distorted form of the Chibi-Maru line. This is not a scale model — the hull is shortened and the proportions playfully exaggerated. According to the name the package also holds a sample of modeling sprue nippers, which makes it a practical choice for anyone who is starting out in modeling and still building up a set of tools.
Akizuki was the lead ship of the Japanese destroyer class of the same name introduced in 1942. The class was created above all for the anti-aircraft protection of carrier groups and was marked by an armament of dual-purpose 100 mm guns. These were among the largest and most modern in concept of the Japanese destroyers of the Second World War.
Use the enclosed nippers to separate the parts cleanly from the frames and finish the edges with a modeling knife. Bond them with a thin cement for plastic and paint them with acrylics — a gray scheme with a contrasting deck suits the original. A little drybrushing will pick out the edges of the superstructures, and a matte varnish will unify everything.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
