Chibi-Maru Fleet Kongo is a cute distorted kit of the Japanese battleship Kongo from Fujimi — shortened proportions, an easy and quick build with no conventional scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Chibi-Maru Fleet Kongo from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi renders the battleship Kongo in the distorted style of the Chibi-Maru line. This is not a scale model — the hull is shortened while the turrets and the superstructures are exaggerated, and the result is a compact, likeable little ship. Simple construction means a quick build that even someone holding modeling glue for the first time will manage.
Kongo gave her name to the whole class of four fast battleships of the Imperial Japanese Navy. She was built before the First World War in a British yard as the last Japanese heavy ship built abroad; after extensive modernizations she served in the Second World War as a fast battleship. She was lost in November 1944 after being hit by submarine torpedoes near Taiwan.
Sort the parts out according to the instructions, separate them with nippers and bond them with a thin cement for plastic. Paint them with acrylics — complete the gray scheme of the hull and the superstructures with a darker deck. A fine wash will bring out the layout of the superstructures, and a matte varnish at the end will unify and protect the surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
