Chibi-Maru Fleet Musashi Special Version (with Effect Parts) is a cute shortened kit of the battleship Musashi from Fujimi, completed according to the name with effect parts. This is not a scale model — the ship is deliberately distorted into a friendly form.

The famous battleship Musashi as cutely rendered by the Chibi-Maru Fleet line of the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi, this time in a special version which, according to the name, is completed by effect parts for a livelier display of the model. The miniature with its shortened hull and enlarged main armament turrets is not a scale model — it is a deliberately distorted caricature that nonetheless keeps the unmistakable silhouette of the largest battleships in history.
Musashi was the second ship of the Yamato class — the largest and most heavily armed battleships ever built, with a main armament of 460 mm. She entered service in 1942 and also acted as the flagship of the Combined Fleet. Her service ended in October 1944 in the Sibuyan Sea, where after day-long air attacks she succumbed to a great number of bomb and torpedo hits.
The build is quick and simple. Paint the hull in Imperial Japanese Navy gray, set the deck apart with a wooden tone and bring out the turrets with a fine wash. We recommend assembling the effect parts according to the instructions and possibly toning them so that they go with the model. For younger builders we recommend the help of an adult because of the work with glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
